My Scripted Story

explore your humanity, expand your perspective, and strengthen your character through immersive story-sharing

Overview

My Scripted Story™ is a highly personalized, story-sharing immersion into human character and imagination.

Participants step into the lives of others to discover new dimensions of perspective, using language from theater and film scripts, personal testimony, memory, and image.

Grounded in insights from neuroscience, this experience creates a safe, interactive space to wonder, stretch creative muscles, cultivate curiosity, and build empathy through play.

Whether you're leading a team, teaching students, or pursuing personal growth, My Scripted Story™ offers a fresh, human-centered approach to expand awareness, embody your evolving character, and connect more meaningfully with others.

This is not an acting class. No performance experience required—or preferred.

Full Story Immersion

  • In this extended format (minimum 6 sessions), you’ll be cast in a full play or film script that you’ll read, interpret, and question alongside others—scene by scene. The story becomes a shared playground for exploring personal beliefs, needs, and expectations, revealing how your inner frameworks shape the way you navigate pressure, uncertainty, and change.

Each session also includes curated imagery designed to activate your imagination and engage your unconscious. These visual prompts unlock intuitive writing that often illuminates hidden patterns, personal meaning, and emotional truth.

You’ll leave with a renewed sense of your evolving character, deeper self-awareness, and a refreshed capacity to meet life with creativity, presence, and purpose. Along the way, you’ll loosen the grip of outdated narratives and begin to write new ones—building fresh neural pathways, and maybe even having a little fun while doing it.

Ideal for: leadership teams, artist cohorts, peer circles, and community groups seeking sustained growth and transformation
    Group size: Maximum 10 participants

Partial Story Immersion

  • This shorter-format experience captures the spirit of the Full Story Immersion—only instead of working with a full script, you’ll play with short theatrical scenes, personal testimonies, and curated imagery to unlock fresh perspective, creative insight, and personal meaning.

Designed to leave you with practical tools for developing your human character and deepening your sense of purpose, this offering blends reflection, imagination, and shared story.

It’s a playful, thought-provoking immersion that invites empathy, presence, and meaningful group connection.

Ideal for: leadership development, wellness retreats, or creative residencies

Single Immersion

  • Tailor-made to meet the goals of your group, this stand-alone workshop draws from evocative imagery, short theatrical scenes, personal testimony, guided writing prompts, and story exchanges.

Designed to jumpstart presence, creativity, and connection, it’s a quick right-brain workout that helps you tune into your instincts, engage with new perspectives, and practice meaning-making through story.

Ideal for: in-house team-building, classroom enrichment, or any setting that welcomes imagination and emotional intelligence

Sometimes stepping into someone else’s story is the only way to hear your own.

LINDA: ...He's not to be allowed to fall into his grave like an old dog. Attention, attention must finally be paid to such a person.

STARBUCK: I’m after a clap of lightnin’! I want things to be as pretty when I get them as they are when I’m thinkin’ about them!

TESTIMONIALS

"When I was invited to participate in My Scripted Story, I felt both thrilled and nervous. It was exhilarating to completely release my own narrative, my own baggage, any sort of agenda, and step into someone else's life. I LOVED it. Joey would guide us and give us feedback along the way. It felt truly healing, purposeful and creative on a deeper level than I would have ever imagined. This is a fantastic project for any group of people, be it students, organizations, sports teams, etc. that want to explore together, ride a wave of emotions, and experience a soulful journey.”

- Heather Jones, Author / Director of Education & Community Programs of The Rhythm Child Network

“My Scripted Story™ gave me a vessel to embody my imagination through character—not to perform, but to uncover. What began as stepping into someone else's world became a process of developing my own language of expression. Through script, image, and imagination, I discovered new ways of being—now living through my artwork, sculpture, and voice. This offering catalyzed a deeper relationship with my own character and expanded how I perceive, express, and create.”

— Jobi Manson, Founder of Sēfari

“I’ve never been part of a small group experience quite like My Scripted Story--it wasn’t your typical team-building exercise or workshop! Even though we had no history together, Joey created a space where we quickly connected on a deep level. In no time, we were sharing ideas and embracing perspectives that felt truly meaningful and eye-opening. It was a unique, formative experience that gave me tools to think divergently (imaginatively, creatively, empathetically, etc.), manage stressful circumstances and build genuine connections with others. I use what I learned with Joey almost everyday.”

- Katie Dudgeon, Founder of Proxima Partners

“A transformative experience that deepened my understanding of who I am and how I move through the world. The process sparked countless ‘a-ha’ moments, and by the end, we felt like family. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone seeking personal, professional, or creative growth. It’s a life-altering adventure.”

- Vincent DeLuca, Founder of Big Pup Film

My Scripted Story was an engaging, creative, and unique experience that accessed a different realm of imagination and knowing. By taking on a character and their story as my own, it brought to light unexpected insight and perspective that allowed me to both deepen my empathy as well as bring to light new ways of looking at my own life. It was also such a delight to connect and meet with others in the experience — both in the story and in real life — and cultivate new friendships”

- Christine Lai, Partner at Together Institute
